Twitter For Nobel Peace Prize?

9 07 2009

Former Deputy National Security Advisor to President George W. Bush, Mark Pfeifle, has proposed nominating the founders of Twitter for the Nobel Peace Prize because of Twitter’s aiding of the Iranian election protesters. If Twitter were to win, I think I might just have to admit I was wrong about Twitter. Even though I still think it’s the epitome of self-absorption (because blogging isn’t), I guess if it helps fuel a democratic uprising some credit is due. I guess all I can say is you better be tweeting about fighting injustice and defending human rights because I still don’t care whether or not you’re watching season 5 of Law & Order or eating Corn Flakes on the couch.
